Contender (Bush) Bean

Bean Contender is an excellent, early-maturing variety that produces
abundantly. Pods are round, stringless, and are at their best when 5/12 -
6 inches long. High in vitamins A, B, and C, it is also disease tolerant.

When to plant: May-June

Three Color Mix (Bush) Bean

Summer fresh beans are an old-fashioned garden gem. Grow this mixture
of yellow, purple, and green bush beans for a bountiful harvest of nutritional
beans. These tender beans can be eaten fresh, steamed, or baked- or
frozen for a winter treat. 

When to plant: Late May-June

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 55 to 80 days

 

Broccoli (De Cicco)

Broccoli De Cicco is a uniform, very productive variety high in 
vitamins. The large heads of this cool weather vegetable also
furnish a high percentage of side shoots. With only 42 calories
per portion, it is a great low calorie choice. A cool weather 
vegetable.  

When to plant: April - June
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before planting outdoors

National Pickling Cucumber 

Grows very high-yielding vines. These vines produce blocky fruit that is crispy
and tender-skinned. It holds its quality longer than most varieties and is a
top-notch selection for pickling when harvested young. Plants resist scab and
tolerate cucumber mosaic.

When to plant: Late April - July

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 55 days

Lemon Cucumber

Slicer. The distinctive yellow color, flavor, and shape make the lemon
cucumber a treasured choice for summer salads. The fruit, almost 
round, is about 3 1/2 inches long and just turning an attractive 
lemon-yellow color when mature.

When to plant: Late May - June

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Cosmos

A vibrant blend of warm blossom colors, early bloom time, and compact plants
make this mixture a favorite. By midsummer, the 2 to 3 inch semi-double flowers
bloom in bright shades of golden-yellow, brilliant orange and fiery red on compact
2 to 3 foot tall plants. Beautiful in beds, borders, containers, and in floral 
arrangements. 

When to plant: May - June

Johnny Jump Up

Johnny Jump Up are gorgeous, miniature, pansy-like flowers. Blooms in a
pleasing combination of lavender, violet, and canary yellow.

Shasta Daisy

A perennial with pure glistening white flowers, 4-5 inches across with butter
yellow centers. Each plant sends up dozens of tall, sturdy stems. Blooms
in the second season from sowing. 

When to plant: June - August

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to bloom: 180 - 300 days

Perennial plant (will come back annually - if potted, bring in the pot for the winter)

Wildflower Mix (Bird & Butterfly Mixture)

A delightful mix of annual and perennial wildflowers. Carefully selected
and designed to produce a spectrum of color and naturalized beauty
throughout the growing season. The annuals will bloom in the first year;
the perennials will generally bloom in the second. 

When to plant: April - June & October - December

Spread seeds thinly and evenly over prepared soil or pot.

Basil (Sweet Italian)

The leaves of sweet basil are attractive and have a spicy flavor that makes
great salads, tomato and cheese dishes, soups, and omelettes extra delicious.
The entire plant has a very pleasing aroma. It's a good companion for tomato
plants. 

When to plant: April - July
Start indoors 6 weeks before transplanting to the garden.

Chives

The hollow, thin leaves of chives have a delicious flavoring much like very
mild onions. It's delicious in salads and for flavoring soups and omelettes.
Because of the plant's attractive cloverlike blossoms, they are often used for
edging flowerbeds. 

When to plant: March - June
Start indoors 6 weeks before transplanting to the garden.

Cilantro (Coriander)

The plant is cilantro while the seeds are coriander. The leaves have a distinctive
flavor and are used as a garnish in salads and soups. The seed is used in meat
and seafood dishes, as well as a condiment for flavoring bread, cookies, and
cakes. 

When to plant: April - July

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 70 days

Dill (Elephant)

Often grown as a companion plant in a vegetable garden, dill matures quickly
and as a great flavor. The leaves are popular for seasoning, and seed clusters
are used for pickling. Elephant dill is a late-flowering cultivar that's slow to bolt
- perfect for all your fall dishes!

When to plant: May - July

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Oregano (Vulgare)

The bushy plant of oregano produces leaves that are an essential ingredient in
Italian and Spanish dishes. Also used in salads, stews, stuffing, fish, and egg
and cheese dishes. It's similar to Marjoram, but with sharper fragrance and flavor. 

When to plant: May - July
Start indoors 6 weeks before transplanting to the garden.

Days to harvest: 80 days

Parsley (Italian Dark Green)

Bienniel. A very nice flavor that is a favorite for fresh use or drying. The dark
green leaves are very attractive as a garnish. Easy to grow. 

When to plant: March - June
Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date then transplant to the garden.

Rosemary

Rosemary is a popular choice for flavoring meats and soups. It has a fragrant
aroma, and the leaves have a warm, tangy flavor. To add zest to grilled beef,
chicken, or ribs, toss leaves over hot charcoal. 

When to plant: June
Start indoors 8 weeks before transplanting to the garden.

Kale (Red Russian) - Organic

Red Russian Kale has flat-leaf leaves that are dark green with purple stems.
This tender leafed kale can grow to 2-3 feet tall and has a mild, sweet flavor.
It can be grown as a spring and early fall crop. 

When to plant: April - June

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 50 days

Lettuce (Gourmet Blend)

A complete & colorful salad. Blend of loose-leaf varieties. Shades of green
& red. Contains Oakleaf, Ruby, Tango, Lolla Rossa, & Black Seeded
Simpson. 

When to plant: May - July

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 45 to 50 days

Swiss Chard (Bright Lights)

A rainbow of colorful stalks in red, white, yellow, gold, violet, and orange.
Leaves are green or burgundy with colored veins. Very attractive in the
vegetable garden or in the flower bed. Use small fresh leaves in salads
or steam or stir fry larger leaves. Cook stalks as you would asparagus.
Begin harvest when plants are about 8 inches tall. Pick outer leaves first
or harvest entire plant. A spring planting will produce all summer if it
is kept picked. 

When to plant: May - June

Leeks (American Flag)

When to plant: May - July
Start seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before the last frost.

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 130 days

 

Peas (Cascadia Sugar Snap)

Cascadia sugar snap peas can be picked early for snow peas or after
the pods have matured for snap peas. With vines up to 3 feet, this
fiber-less, 3 inch sweet pod has good yields and multiple disease
resistance. Snap peas are great fresh or frozen, but not for canning.

When to plant: April - May & Late June

Days to harvest: 58 - 65 days

 

Jalapeno Pepper (Mild)

For a pepper that has the traditional jalapeno flavor without the heat,
this is the jalapeno for you! Plants are not as large as the standard
jalapeno. Turn from green to red when mature. Perfect for salsa and
pickling. 

When to plant: April - May
Start seeds indoors 8 weeks before planting outdoors.
Suggestion: plant hot peppers and sweet peppers in separate areas
to avoid cross-pollination.

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 67 to 70 days

King of the North Pepper

Blocky fruit are well-flavored when picked green or red. Early and superb 
for the North. Yields crisp green bells, ripening to red, right up until frost.

When to plant: April - May
Start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before planting outdoors.
Suggestion: plant hot peppers and sweet peppers in separate areas
to avoid cross-pollination.

Poblano Pepper 

Classic chili relleno type. Used green, roasted and peeled. 3-6" heart-
shaped fruits, usually quite mild. Also great for chili powder. 

When to plant: April - May
Start seeds indoors 8-12 weeks before planting outdoors.
Suggestion: plant hot peppers and sweet peppers in separate areas
to avoid cross-pollination.

Days to harvest: 75 days

Sweet Banana Peppers 

Sweet fruits with limited heat (0-500 on the Scoville scale). Can be 
eaten at any size, but best at 6 to 7 inches. Light yellow when ripe. 

When to plant: April - May
Start seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. 
Suggestion: plant hot peppers and sweet peppers in separate areas
to avoid cross-pollination.

Sweet Peppers (California Wonder 300 TMR)

One of the best large bell peppers. The crisp, thick flesh has a mild,
pleasant flavor. Perfect for salads, stuffing, and as a soup ingredient.
It's high in vitamins A and C. 

When to plant: March - May
Start seeds indoors, 6 to 8 weeks before the last frost. 
Suggestion: plant hot peppers and sweet peppers in separate areas
to avoid cross-pollination.

Tam Jalapeno

A very tasty, mild Jalapeno-type; the same delicious flavor but much
less heat. Productive!

When to plant: April - May

to avoid cross-pollination.

Fall Rainbow Blend Pumpkins

This colorful blend includes red, pink, white, blue, orange, and
tan pumpkins. Enjoy a colorful display!

When to plant: Late May - June

Mini Harvest Blend Pumpkins

Beets (Tall Top Early Wonder)

A fine all-purpose beet high in vitamins A, B2, B6, and C. The 
flattened globe shaped roots have purplish-red flesh and excellent
flavor.

When to plant: May - August

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 45 - 50 days

Carrots (Petite Sweet)

Small and very sweet. Early to mature. Petite at just 3 1/2 inches and
is uniformly thick, smooth, thin-skinned, and small-cored.

When to plant: May - July

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 60 days

Parsnips (All American)

Selected for sweet flavor, fine texture, and earliness. All American's 
long, slender roots are white and smooth. 

When to plant: Late May - June

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Radish (Icicle Short Top)

The best early white radish. Its flesh has a deliciously mild flavor, 
especially when harvested young. The radishes are high in vitamin C
and are crisp and tender up to the length of 6 inches.

When to plant: April - July

Days to harvest: 27 - 35 days

Turnips (Purple Top White Globe)

A long time favorite and the most popular turnip for table use. The
white flesh of its root is firm and fine-grained with a mild, sweet 
flavor. This cool weather vegetable is at its most tender when the 
roots are 2 to 2 1/2 inches in diameter. 

When to plant: May - June

Seeds per hole: 1-2

Days to harvest: 50 - 55 days

 

Cocozelle Squash

Summer squash. Use for slicing and frying. Tasty when steamed or
simmered. Fruits mature to 18 to 24 inches long but are most tender
when 8 inches long.

When to plant: Late May - June

Chef's Choice Blend Tomato

This colorful blend has orange, pink, red, black, yellow, green, purple,
and bi-color tomatoes. Enjoy a fun mix of colors!

Early Girl Hybrid Tomato

True to her name, Early Girl Hybrid takes first place as the earliest
slicing tomato. Plants yield an early abundance of 4 to 6 ounce fruit.
This indeterminate variety is high in vitamins A and C.

Independence Day Cherry F1 Tomato

This determinate tomato has heavy sets of 2 ounce red fruits.
Independence Day Cherry F1 has the perfect balance of acid and
sugar. You'll be please to have an almost unlimited supply of large
cherry fruits, produced right in your own garden!

When to plant: May - June

Jelly Bean Hybrid Tomato

Jelly Bean Hybrid tomatoes are a popular grape type tomato. The 
kind you find in the supermarket is now available for you to grow in 
your garden. Small, sweet, red tomatoes grow in clusters of 15-30
fruits like grapes. The red, oblong-shaped tomatoes are crack 
resistant, holding on to the indeterminate vines for days. They are
the perfect size for salads or eating whole due to their fantastic 
flavor. 

When to plant: May - June
